El liderazgo para problemas complejos requiere preparación y capacidad de improvisación efectiva durante la acción. El programa está diseñado para profundizar habilidades de investigación y movilización mediante estrategias de ensayo, error, reflexión y aprendizaje. Los participantes desarrollarán competencias sociales para crear lazos, alianzas y comunidades, así como habilidades de comunicación para enfrentar conversaciones incómodas, valientes y cruciales. El curso también fortalece la capacidad para crecer desde el fracaso y las habilidades emocionales para entender las motivaciones y temores de otros. A diferencia de cursos convencionales, este programa no se basa en clases magistrales, sino en oportunidades de aprendizaje práctico con acompañamiento reflexivo de los profesores.

Director of the Public Leadership Center
Maite Careaga Tagüeña was the founder and director of the Public Leadership Center at the School of Government, Universidad de los Andes, Colombia. She enjoyed working with individuals who wanted to develop their leadership skills, connect with their purposes, and acquire effective tools to improve their lives and those of others. Her career spanned academia and consulting, reflecting her diverse background and experience living in several countries, including Mexico, the U.S., France, Spain, and Colombia. She designed and facilitated leadership, strategy, and behavior courses for over 15 years and taught at institutions like the Universidad Carlos Tercero de Madrid and the Instituto de Empresa in Madrid. She also worked with Leaderbuilding, a Spanish leadership development consultancy, and at the Electoral Authority in Mexico. Her research focused on designing and evaluating pedagogical strategies for teaching intra and interpersonal leadership skills. Maite held a PhD and MA in Political Science and Government from Stanford University and a degree in Political Science from the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México. She was trained as a coach at Columbia University and certified in various leadership methodologies. Unfortunately, she passed away, leaving a legacy in leadership development.
Professor of Leadership
Héctor F. Hernández V. is a professor of leadership at the School of Government, Universidad de los Andes in Colombia. He emphasizes creating spaces where individuals can elevate their potential and achieve their goals through heightened awareness. Two pivotal moments in his life led him to this role: being let go from the corporate world, which made him realize he had built a successful career to please others, and deciding to address community problems by co-founding the Asociación de Vecinos de Chicó Norte in Bogotá. He holds a Master's degree in Public Policy from the University of Michigan and is an Industrial Engineer from Universidad Javeriana. His career spans 12 years working as an engineer in tech companies like IBM and Apple, and as a consultant in the U.S. He also worked as an entrepreneur and commercial representative in Colombia. Currently, he serves as a coach, trainer, and facilitator for executive development programs, certified in Lego® Serious Play® methodology. Since 2011, he has been the founder and president of the Asociación de Vecinos de Chicó Norte.
