Maite Careaga Tagüeña was the founder and director of the Public Leadership Center at the School of Government, Universidad de los Andes, Colombia. She enjoyed working with individuals who wanted to develop their leadership skills, connect with their purposes, and acquire effective tools to improve their lives and those of others. Her career spanned academia and consulting, reflecting her diverse background and experience living in several countries, including Mexico, the U.S., France, Spain, and Colombia. She designed and facilitated leadership, strategy, and behavior courses for over 15 years and taught at institutions like the Universidad Carlos Tercero de Madrid and the Instituto de Empresa in Madrid. She also worked with Leaderbuilding, a Spanish leadership development consultancy, and at the Electoral Authority in Mexico. Her research focused on designing and evaluating pedagogical strategies for teaching intra and interpersonal leadership skills. Maite held a PhD and MA in Political Science and Government from Stanford University and a degree in Political Science from the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México. She was trained as a coach at Columbia University and certified in various leadership methodologies. Unfortunately, she passed away, leaving a legacy in leadership development.
