Dynamic Educator, Public Speaker, and Communication Expert
Ivan Wanis Ruiz is an instructor at the University of Toronto's School of Continuing Studies with a diverse background in finance, marketing, HR, and entrepreneurship. He has served as the official spokesperson for the 2015 PanAm Games and the 2017 Invictus Games. Passionate about communication, Ivan teaches that commanding attention as a speaker is a learned skill. He is the author of They Don’t Have to be Naked: A New Approach to Public Speaking. His classes challenge students to step out of their comfort zones and apply communication strategies in real time.
Expert in Social Work and Sexuality Education
Ka Tat Tsang teaches master's courses in direct social work practice, focusing on individual counseling and group work skills, as well as a course on sexuality and sexual diversity. He also instructs a Ph.D. course on epistemology and research methods. Beyond academia, Tsang has provided extensive teaching, training, and consulting for universities, NGOs, and major corporations across various countries, including Canada, China, India, Japan, and the USA. With a background in social work and clinical psychology, he has practiced psychotherapy and counseling since the 1970s and has designed workshops on dating and interpersonal relationships for over thirty years. His scholarly interests encompass sexuality and intimacy, interpersonal and social relationships, mental health, cross-cultural work, and social science theory.
