Xianghua Wen

Xianghua Wen is a distinguished Professor in the School of Environment at Tsinghua University, Beijing, where she also serves as Joint Course Coordinator. She obtained her PhD in Environmental Engineering from Tsinghua University in 1991. Her expertise spans water pollution control theory and technology, and environmental biotechnology. As a key researcher at the State Key Joint Laboratory of Environmental Simulation and Pollution Control, Professor Wen focuses on critical areas such as membrane bioreactors for industrial wastewater treatment, biotechnology applications in pollutant detoxification, and sustainable urban water resource management. Her teaching portfolio includes graduate-level courses in Modern Environmental Biotechnology and Advanced Wastewater Treatment. With an impressive academic output of over 230 technical journal papers and 5 books, Professor Wen has made significant contributions to the field of environmental engineering. Her ongoing research projects encompass a wide range of topics, including the use of innovative technologies for degrading refractory organics and the development of advanced systems for industrial wastewater treatment. Professor Wen's work has earned her recognition as a leading expert in wastewater treatment, membranes, microbial ecology, and environmental engineering.
