Institut Mines-TelecomVaibhav Chhabra serves as the founder of Maker's Asylum, India's pioneering community makerspace in Mumbai. As a mechanical engineer from Boston University who discovered his passion for carpentry, he combined his technical expertise with hands-on craftsmanship to create this innovative space. After working at EyeNetra, an MIT Media Labs startup developing eye diagnostic devices, he established Maker's Asylum to foster a community of creators and innovators. His leadership extends to serving as Chair for innovation and entrepreneurship at Young Indians – Confederation of Indian Industries and as a Global Shaper at the World Economic Forum. Through his initiative STEAM School, developed in collaboration with the French embassy in India, he promotes project-based learning focused on sustainable development goals. Beyond his professional achievements, he maintains his passion for furniture making, photography, and ping pong.
