A Distinguished Scholar in Environmental Security and Sustainable Development
Saleem H. Ali is a globally recognized environmental security scholar who currently serves as the Blue and Gold Distinguished Professor of Energy and the Environment at the University of Delaware while maintaining an Honorary Professorship at The University of Queensland's Sustainable Minerals Institute. His academic journey includes a PhD in Environmental Planning from MIT, an M.E.S. in environmental law and policy from Yale University, and a BS in Chemistry from Tufts University (summa cum laude). Throughout his career, he has held prestigious positions including Director of the Centre for Social Responsibility in Mining at UQ (2012-2015) and founding director of the Institute for Environmental Diplomacy and Security at the University of Vermont.
