University of TorontoRosemary Evans has established herself as a prominent figure in educational leadership through her role as Principal of University of Toronto Schools from 2011 to 2023. Her academic foundation includes a BA in History from the University of Western Ontario, complemented by an MA in History, BEd, and MBA from the University of Toronto. Her career spans significant positions including Academic Head at Branksome Hall, where she successfully implemented International Baccalaureate Programs from junior kindergarten through grade twelve. Prior to this, she served as a teacher, department head, and subject coordinator for the Peel Board of Education, and vice-principal in the former East York Board of Education. Her expertise in education is further demonstrated through her work as an instructor in the Initial Teacher Education Program at OISE, where she received a Teaching Excellence Award. Evans has authored several history textbooks and is recognized for her contributions to educational methodology, particularly in assessment and evaluation, critical thinking, inquiry-based learning, and global education. Her leadership has been marked by successful initiatives including the renewal of University of Toronto Schools' affiliation with the University of Toronto and the oversight of major institutional development projects. Currently, she continues to shape educational leadership as an Expert in Residence for the OISE Fellowship Program at the University of Toronto.
