Rosaura Ruiz Gutiérrez is a distinguished Mexican biologist and academic who has made significant contributions to the fields of evolutionary biology, science history, and philosophy. She completed her Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctoral degrees in Biology at the Faculty of Sciences of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). Ruiz Gutiérrez holds the position of Definitive Full Professor C at UNAM and has been a member of the National System of Researchers (SNI) since 1985. Throughout her career, Ruiz Gutiérrez has achieved several notable milestones. She became the first woman to serve as president of the Mexican Academy of Sciences, highlighting her leadership in the scientific community. Her primary research focus is the scientific, historical, and philosophical study of evolutionary theories. Currently, she serves as the Secretary of Education, Science, Technology, and Innovation for Mexico City, demonstrating her commitment to advancing education and scientific progress in the region.
