Robin Hillyard

Dr. Robin Hillyard is an Associate Teaching Professor in the Multidisciplinary Graduate Engineering Programs at Northeastern University. He earned a BA/MA in Engineering Science from the University of Oxford and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Cambridge. With a career spanning several decades, Dr. Hillyard has extensive experience as a software innovator, developer, and architect, having written his first program in 1968. His research interests include sorting algorithms, genetic algorithms, and blockchain technologies, with a focus on their applications in various fields such as healthcare and cryptography. He has developed significant contributions to the field, including a patent pending for reactive programming in healthcare information systems and has published works on topics like volumetric modeling and solid modeling. Dr. Hillyard is also recognized for his development of Huskysort, an advanced sorting algorithm that optimizes performance by reducing the number of comparisons required during sorting processes.
