Olivier Bahn

Olivier Bahn is a Full Professor in the Department of Decision Sciences at HEC Montréal and serves as the Codirector of the e3c Hub - Environment, Energy and Circular Economy. He also holds the position of Director of the Group for Research in Decision Analysis (GERAD), a multi-university research center. Bahn's expertise lies in energy economics and the modeling of climate policies, with his research published in leading academic journals. His educational background includes a Diplôme d'ingénieur from the Institut d'Informatique d'Entreprise (CNAM, Paris) and a Doctorate in Economic and Social Sciences from the University of Geneva. Bahn's work focuses on operational research, mathematical models in economy/energy/environment, and climate change. He has contributed significantly to understanding market power in renewable energy, energy storage roles, and integrated energy markets. As a consultant for various companies, governments, and organizations, Bahn bridges academic research with practical policy applications.
