Lucy Gallun serves as The Peter Schub Curator in the Department of Photography at The Museum of Modern Art, where she has made significant contributions to photography curation and education for over 12 years. Her curatorial achievements include organizing three iterations of MoMA's New Photography exhibition series and multiple Projects exhibitions, including "Being: New Photography 2018" and "Ocean of Images: New Photography 2015". She is the lead instructor for MoMA's online course "Seeing Through Photographs," which explores the complex history and practice of photography through MoMA's extensive collection. Her scholarly work includes co-editing and contributing to "Photography at MoMA," a comprehensive three-volume history of photography at the Museum, and authoring "Robert Frank: Trolley—New Orleans" in the Museum's One on One series. Before joining MoMA, she held prestigious positions as the Whitney Lauder Curatorial Fellow at the Institute of Contemporary Art in Philadelphia and as a Helena Rubinstein Curatorial Fellow at the Whitney Museum Independent Study Program. Through her exhibitions, publications, and educational initiatives, Gallun continues to advance the understanding and appreciation of photography as both an artistic medium and a cultural force.
