Institut Mines-TelecomEsperanza Perdrix serves as an Assistant Professor at the Center for Energy and Environment at IMT Nord Europe, where she has been contributing since 1994 after receiving her Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Institut National Polytechnique de Lorraine. As the scientific co-coordinator of the "Sources and impacts" group, her research focuses on understanding atmospheric pollution through comprehensive analysis of aerosol composition, sources, and oxidative properties. Her significant work includes characterizing inorganic aerosols and their gaseous precursors in northern France, investigating PM10 pollution through chemical transport and trajectory-based receptor models, and studying the geographical origins of atmospheric particulate matter. Her recent research has expanded to include studies on oxidative stress and inflammation induced by air pollution-derived particles
