The University of IcelandÉlise Féron is a distinguished Docent and senior research fellow at the Tampere Peace Research Institute (TAPRI) at Tampere University, Finland, where she lectures for the MA in Peace, Mediation and Conflict Research. Her academic journey includes holding an Accreditation to Supervise Research (Docent) and a PhD in Political Science from the University of Lille, France. Before establishing herself in Finland, she held permanent positions at the University of Kent in the UK and Sciences Po Lille in France, and has served as an invited professor at several prestigious institutions including the University of Louvain (Belgium), University of Turin (Italy), University of Coimbra (Portugal), and the Université Lumière de Bujumbura (Burundi). Her research expertise encompasses feminist peace research, conflict-generated diaspora politics, and the complex relationships between conflict, violence, and peace. During the 2023-24 academic year, she is leading the MA thesis seminar of the PEACE program and teaching the PEACE060 Feminist Peace Research course. Her scholarly contributions have made significant impacts in the fields of conflict prevention, diaspora studies, and sexual violence in conflicts.
