A Pioneer in Water Leadership and Sustainability Development
Andre Taylor serves as Leadership Specialist at the International WaterCentre and Director of Andre Taylor Consulting, where he designs and delivers leadership development programs for sustainability and water sector professionals. After beginning his career as an environmental manager in the 1990s, he completed his PhD in leadership development at Monash University in 2010, focusing on emergent leaders in the sustainable urban water industry. His expertise spans multiple academic roles, including developing and teaching the award-winning IWC Water Leadership Program, coordinating Masters-level leadership courses at UNSW Business School, and co-facilitating the Leading Change for Sustainable Development unit at Monash University. His work combines leadership development, sustainability practices, and water management, earning him multiple accolades including the 2014 and 2017 UNSW Facilitator Awards for Teaching Excellence in an Online Environment. Beyond academia, he maintains an active consulting practice focusing on leadership development, team building, and coaching for emerging and executive leaders in the sustainability and water sectors. His contributions include designing the Leaders in Global Development MOOC for UQ's MicroMasters program and leading numerous executive education initiatives. Taylor holds a Bachelor of Science with First Class Honours from the University of Tasmania, a Master of Environmental Management from the University of Queensland, and has trained over 400 water industry professionals through his coaching and mentoring programs
