About Me

The doctoral program in Literature with a focus on Applied Linguistics at Shanghai Jiao Tong University (2005-2008) offers comprehensive training in language education and research. The program combines theoretical foundations with practical applications in language teaching, particularly emphasizing Chinese language instruction and business communication. Core responsibilities include teaching Chinese to foreign language students, covering intensive reading, speaking, and listening skills, along with undergraduate courses in Contemporary Chinese and Chinese Literature and Culture. Research activities focus on comparative analysis of Chinese and US business teaching materials, specifically examining word list differences and developing specialized corpus for Chinese Business textbooks. The program is housed within the university's School of Humanities, which boasts a strong faculty including 3 professors, 16 associate professors, and multiple research fellows.
