Leadership Excellence in Pharmacy Education and Oncology Care

Kathy Vu serves as Associate Professor in the Teaching Stream and Director of the PharmD for Pharmacists Program at the University of Toronto's Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy, where she brings extensive expertise in oncology and health systems management. Her academic journey began at the University of Toronto, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy, followed by completion of a hospital residency and Doctor of Pharmacy degree. Her career encompasses significant leadership roles, including Clinical Pharmacy Practitioner at St. Michael's Hospital, provincial Clinical Lead for Safety Initiatives, and Program Manager for the Systemic Treatment Program at Cancer Care Ontario. Currently maintaining her position as provincial Clinical Lead for Safety and academic lead for the Oncology Programs at the University of Toronto's School of Continuing Studies, she teaches oncology courses PHM301 and PHM653 at the Faculty of Pharmacy. Her research interests focus on pharmacy practice and quality improvement in oncology, with notable contributions to developing pan-Canadian consensus guidelines for handling oral anti-cancer drugs. Demonstrating her commitment to continuous learning, she is currently enrolled in the Education Scholars Program and pursuing a Master's degree at the Dalla Lana School of Public Health, while maintaining her dedication to advancing pharmacy education and oncology care through her teaching and research activities.
