Andreas Park is a prominent Professor of Finance at the University of Toronto, where he has served since 2003, progressing from Assistant Professor to Full Professor in 2021. As Research Director at Rotman's Financial Innovation Lab (FinHub) and co-founder of the University of Toronto's LedgerHub blockchain research lab, he has established himself as a leading expert in financial technology innovation. His academic journey includes a PhD in Economics from the University of Cambridge, an MPhil from Cambridge, and a Diplom in Mathematical Economics from Bielefeld University. Park's research spans both theoretical and empirical domains, focusing on financial market structure, blockchain technology, and crypto-finance. He currently holds the Canadian Securities Institute's Research Foundation Limited-Term Chair and teaches cutting-edge courses in decentralized finance (DeFi), FinTech, and financial market trading across undergraduate, graduate, and executive programs. His influential research has been published in prestigious journals including Econometrica, Journal of Finance, and Management Science, with recent work examining tokenomics and automated market making. Park's expertise extends beyond academia through his service on the Ontario Securities Commission's Market Structure Advisory Committee and his role as academic director for the Business of Payments program, where he has developed innovative online courses in Payments Innovation and Decentralized Finance.
