There are 3 modules in this course
This course provides a comprehensive understanding of gender-based violence through three interconnected modules. Beginning with an exploration of how violence becomes normalized within patriarchal systems, the curriculum examines structural and systemic violence that creates both harm and privilege. Students learn to identify machismo culture and gender-based discrimination in everyday contexts. The second module categorizes different types and modalities of gender violence, including physical, psychological, economic, sexual, and digital violence, while also addressing institutional violence and revictimization. The final module focuses on specific manifestations in domestic and intimate partner relationships, analyzing the cycle of violence, romantic love myths, and everyday microaggressions like mansplaining, manterrupting, and gaslighting. Throughout the course, participants engage with videos, discussions, and assignments that develop their ability to recognize and address gender-based violence in different contexts.
