María del Pilar Ángeles is a full-time professor in the Department of Computer Engineering at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM). She obtained her Ph.D. in Computer Science from Heriot-Watt University in 2007 and has since accumulated over 26 years of experience in the field. Prior to her academic career, she worked as a Technical Support Engineer for several database software providers, including Software AG and Sybase de Mexico. Her research interests encompass a wide range of topics, including Quality in Software Engineering, Master Data Management, Big Data, NoSQL, In-memory databases, Data Mining, Data Quality, Data matching, and Data Provenance.At UNAM, María del Pilar teaches various courses related to data management and database systems. Her offerings on Coursera include Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing, Designing Data-Intensive Applications, NoSQL Systems, and Relational Database Systems.
