The Jefatura de Educación para la Igualdad, part of the Coordination for Gender Equality (CIGU) at UNAM, is responsible for promoting gender equality through education. This role involves leading initiatives that integrate gender perspectives into educational programs across all fields of knowledge and levels of education at UNAM. The goal is to create a more inclusive and equitable academic environment by addressing gender-based violence and promoting awareness about gender issues. As part of its mission, the CIGU works to ensure that gender equality is a core aspect of UNAM's educational framework. This includes developing curricula, training faculty and staff, and implementing policies that foster a culture of equality and respect for diversity. The CIGU's efforts are integral to UNAM's broader commitment to becoming a model institution for gender equality in Mexico and globally
Professor and Coordinator of Sexual and Reproductive Rights at the University Bioethics Program.
Lourdes Enríquez is a professor at the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters, UNAM, and a member of the Permanent Seminar on Research "Alterity and Exclusions." She coordinates the area of Sexual and Reproductive Rights in the University Bioethics Program. She holds a Master's degree in Philosophy of Law from UNAM and is also a lawyer. Her work focuses on human rights, gender critique, and analysis of political-legal discourse. Her research and teaching areas include gender equality, reproductive rights, and bioethics. She is involved in various academic and social initiatives, contributing to publications and participating in seminars related to gender issues and human rights. Her expertise extends to collaborating with the Center for Gender Studies and Research at UNAM, as well as being part of the National Laboratory of Diversities.
