Distinguished Knowledge Management Expert and Innovation Leader
Professor Eric Tsui serves as a Professor in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering and Associate Director of the Knowledge Management and Innovation Research Centre at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. After extensive academic research in automated knowledge acquisition and natural language processing, he spent 16 years at Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC), where he served as Chief Research Officer for Asia Pacific and Innovation Manager. His research has been supported by grants from organizations including Arthur Young, Rank Xerox, and the Australian Research Council. He holds B.Sc (Hons.), PhD, and MBA qualifications. His expertise spans knowledge technologies, including search engines, portals, personal knowledge management, and cloud services. As Vice President of the Hong Kong Knowledge Management Society and advisor to various government bodies, he has received numerous accolades including the Global Knowledge Management Leadership Award and the Knowledge Management Excellence Award. His contributions to education include developing MOOCs and receiving multiple teaching innovation awards, while securing over HK$9m in funding for teaching and learning projects.

Dr. Klaus Tochtermann serves as Director of the ZBW - Leibniz Information Centre for Economics and Professor of Media Informatics at the University of Kiel. After completing his doctorate in computer science with distinction at Dortmund University in 1995, he conducted postdoctoral research at Texas A&M University's Center for Digital Libraries. His career includes founding Austria's first industry-based research institute on knowledge management (Know-Center) and serving as professor for knowledge management at Graz University of Technology. Since 2010, he has led the ZBW while advancing research in Science 2.0, Open Science, and semantic technologies. His contributions include supervising over 25 PhD theses and publishing more than 230 peer-reviewed papers. He serves on numerous prestigious boards, including the Scientific Senate of the German National Research Data Infrastructure and the EOSC Association Board of Directors. As a visiting professor at institutions like the University of St. Gallen and Universiti Teknologi MARA, he continues to shape digital information infrastructure development internationally.
