Develop skills to implement environmental ethics with a gender perspective, improving the environment in public and private spaces.
This course addresses the critical global environmental crisis stemming from climate change, improper land management, and pollution from chemical, technological, and plastic waste. Drawing on the work of international organizations, NGOs, and professionals across ecology, environmental engineering, anthropology, economics, and sociology, the program provides practical tools and analytical competencies for environmental improvement. Students will learn to understand ecology from a gender perspective, distinguishing between ecofeminism and gender ecology approaches. The curriculum examines how environmental deterioration differently impacts women, men, adolescents, and children across geographic, socioeconomic, and cultural contexts, with special attention to vulnerable communities facing unjust environmental effects. Participants will analyze and identify community strategies framed within non-essentialist environmental ethics with a gender perspective, preparing them to implement positive ecological actions in both public and private spaces.
