Teodoro (Teo) Forcht Dagi is Vice-Chair of Education and Professor of Neurosurgery at the Mayo School of Medicine and Science. Trained in neurosurgery at Massachusetts General Hospital and in London, Dr. Dagi also studied law, medicine, and ethics as a Joseph P. Kennedy, Jr. Fellow at Harvard and as a Senior Research Fellow at the Kennedy Institute of Ethics at Georgetown University. He has served as a law professor at Georgetown Law Center and lectures internationally in law, medicine, and management. Dr. Dagi has contributed to aligning medical laws in post-Soviet states with EU standards through work with the Council of Europe and played a pivotal role in reconstructing the medical school in Belfast, Northern Ireland, post-Troubles. He is a member of numerous professional organizations, sits on the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh’s neurosurgery specialty board, and advocates for integrating medical ethics into healthcare leadership and institutional management.
