Dr. Roderick Bates is an Associate Professor of Chemistry at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, with a background in organic chemistry and a focus on forensic science since 2005. He earned his PhD from Imperial College, London, and completed postdoctoral research at Colorado State University. Before settling in Singapore, he held academic positions in North Texas, Bangkok, and Exeter, England. In addition to teaching forensic science, Dr. Bates also instructs organic chemistry and has authored a textbook titled Organic Synthesis using Transition Metals, contributing to the field of chemical education. His diverse experience in both organic chemistry and forensic science enriches his teaching and research endeavors at the university.
