This comprehensive course introduces the principles and methods for evaluating public health programs operating at scale, with a particular focus on reproductive, maternal, newborn, child health and nutrition (RMNCAH) programs in low and middle-income countries. The curriculum equips participants with practical skills to critique existing evaluations, develop technically-sound evaluation plans, guide program managers through evaluation processes, and make informed decisions about pursuing evaluation as a career path. Dr. Agbessi Amouzou is an Associate Professor in the Department of International Health at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and a senior faculty member at the Institute for International Programs. He specializes in measuring and monitoring reproductive, maternal, newborn, and child health (RMNCH) coverage and mortality. Dr. Amouzou has led major evaluations of large-scale health programs across low-income countries and currently oversees projects like RADAR, COMSA, and Countdown to 2030. Formerly with UNICEF's Data and Analytics Section, he contributed to global and country-level MNCH data analysis. He holds a PhD in Population Studies and Health, along with advanced degrees in biostatistics, demography, and mathematics. Originally from Togo, he brings deep expertise to the field of global public health.

Dr. Neff Walker is a Senior Scientist in the Department of International Health at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and a key member of the Institute for International Programs (IIP). He is the Principal Investigator for the RADAR initiative and the Lives Saved Tool (LiST), widely used to estimate intervention outcomes.
