Erik Brown is an award-winning digital media professional who has dedicated his career to transforming online education through innovative video production and course creation. He holds a Master of Fine Arts in Filmmaking from Kingston University, London. His career journey includes six years as a digital video producer at Harvard and MIT's edX initiative, where he played a crucial role in creating engaging educational content through filming, editing, and production of course materials ranging from introductory videos to laboratory demonstrations and lectures. His work at MIT's Engineering Systems Division earned him an Excellence in Engineering Education Collaboration Award. Before his educational technology career, Brown worked as an independent filmmaker and documentarian in New York City and London, and shared his expertise teaching filmmaking in Kumasi, Ghana. Currently, he serves as the Associate Creative Director at Stanford Digital Education, where he collaborates with faculty and industry leaders from organizations like MIT, Harvard, The Paris-Sorbonne University, Boeing, IBM, and the International Monetary Fund to develop educational experiences that reach millions of learners worldwide

At edX, he served as a video producer from 2012 to 2017, creating educational content for MIT and Wellesley College while also training partners in video production best practices. He produced numerous online courses and marketing videos that reached hundreds of thousands of students.
