With a Master's in TESOL from the University of Northern Iowa and a Cambridge DTEFLA (now DELTA), Newman has specialized in curriculum development, teaching, and testing of English for Academic Purposes throughout her career. Her diverse teaching experience spans pre-university Intensive English Programs, post-admittance Spoken English/Teaching Assistant preparation programs, academic Writing programs, and English for Specific Purposes programs in both the United States and the Middle East. Since joining ETS in 2005, Newman has focused on developing and refining the TOEFL iBT® speaking and reading measures, leveraging her extensive experience to ensure the test accurately assesses the English language skills crucial for academic success.
