Yang Baican serves as a Professor and Doctoral Supervisor at Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, where he has made significant contributions to TCM education and research since 1998. His academic journey includes a bachelor's degree from Jiangxi College of Traditional Chinese Medicine (1982), a master's degree from Shanghai College of Traditional Chinese Medicine (1988), and international experience as a visiting scholar at the University of Manchester, UK (1992-1993). His professional leadership roles include Deputy Director of the Chinese Medicine Basic Theory Branch of the Chinese Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine, membership in the National Geriatric Pharmacy Society, Executive Director of the Shanghai Pharmaceutical Society, and Chairman of the Geriatric Pharmacy Society. His contributions to TCM education include serving as deputy editor-in-chief and editorial board member for the national unified Chinese medicine textbook, developing curriculum materials for prescriptions and pharmacy, and authoring textbooks on Chinese medicine pairs and common disease treatments. His teaching expertise spans various aspects of traditional Chinese medicine, including prescriptions, medicine pairs, and treatment selection for common ailments, making him a key figure in shaping modern TCM education
