许 肖潇 (Xu Xiaoxiao) is a lecturer at the Arts Education Center of Fudan University and an independent director. Born in Zhejiang Province in 1982, she holds undergraduate and master's degrees in Digital Media Arts from the Communication University of China. She furthered her education at the Korea National University of Arts, earning a master's degree in Multimedia Imaging with a full scholarship from the Korean government. During her time in Seoul, she worked as a director, editor, and assistant director, while also creating micro-films. Currently based in Shanghai as a teacher and director, she focuses on the research and exploration of micro-film creation, integrating personalized philosophical reflections into her work. Xu Xiaoxiao utilizes digital imaging techniques to create surreal artistic spaces and narratives. Her work is known for its delicate style, calm attitude, and focus on philosophical themes such as inheritance and fracture, individual life, and cosmic time-space. She seeks to visualize abstract concepts through artistic expression, demonstrating a strong humanistic concern and unique life and space-time experiences. Her representative works include interview narrative micro-films, city public service micro-films, love micro-films, and experimental films, earning her awards at international film festivals for her directing and creative contributions.
