Wouter Wolfs

Wouter Wolfs serves as a Lecturer and Senior Researcher at KU Leuven's Public Governance Institute, where he specializes in European democracy, political party organization, and parliamentary systems. His academic journey includes visiting positions at multiple prestigious institutions including the University of Antwerp, University of Hasselt, University of Trier, and Scuola Normale Superiore of Pisa. His research focuses on three main areas: European integration history, political finance regulation, and parliamentary capacity-building. He received a postdoctoral fellowship from the Research Foundation Flanders and was selected as a Fellow of the Re:Constitution Programme on Democracy and Rule of Law in Europe (2021-2022). His work has gained significant recognition through publications with major academic publishers and journals, including his 2022 book "European Political Parties and Party Finance Reform: Funding Democracy?" with Palgrave Macmillan. As a researcher, he has made notable contributions to understanding how European political parties can reconnect with EU citizens, particularly focusing on regulatory frameworks and funding mechanisms. His expertise extends to policy support, parliament organization, and EU politics, establishing him as a leading voice in European political studies.
