Wendel Cox

Wendel Cox serves as Research and Learning Librarian for Humanities & Social Sciences at Dartmouth College since 2017. His academic credentials include a Ph.D. in History from the University of Minnesota, with supporting studies in Political Science, Economics, and Archaeology, and an MLIS from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. As liaison to English & Creative Writing, Government, and History departments, he manages collections and provides hundreds of research consultations annually. His career path includes positions at the University of Kentucky, Denver Public Library, and University of Arizona, where his postdoctoral fellowship sparked his interest in library services. His research focuses on the history of human-animal relations and the politics of libraries and archives, with publications appearing in Choice, Collection Management, and American Archivist. Through his work, he combines traditional librarianship with innovative approaches to research support and collection development.
