Tsinghua UniversityProfessor Wei Zhao serves as a Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Tsinghua University, where he has established himself as a leading expert in electromagnetic measurement and instrumentation. His academic journey includes degrees from Tsinghua University (B.S. and M.S. in Electrical Engineering) and a Ph.D. from the former Soviet Union. His research focuses on electromagnetic measurement, theory of measuring uncertainty, virtual instruments, networked measuring, and instrument cloud technologies. He has made significant contributions through his work on heavy current transformer performance, electromagnetic interference, and smart grid technologies. As an educator, he teaches foundational courses including Principles of Electric Circuits, Discussions on Electromagnetic Measurements, and Fundamentals of Virtual Instruments. His scholarly work includes co-authoring "Foundation of Modern Electromagnetic Measuring Technology" and numerous publications in prestigious journals. He serves as Director of the electrical and electronic experimental teaching center at Tsinghua University while maintaining active involvement in professional societies, including roles as Co-Vice director of The Chinese Instruments and Meters Academic Society and membership on various academic committees.
