W. Brooke Elliott

W. Brooke Elliott is the Dean and Josef and Margot Lakonishok Professor in Business at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where she plays a pivotal role in shaping the strategic vision of the Gies College of Business. With a strong background in accounting, she previously served as the Executive Associate Dean of Academic Programs and has held various leadership positions within the college, including Head of the Department of Accountancy. Dr. Elliott earned her Ph.D. in accounting from the University of Washington and has been a faculty member at Illinois since 2003. Her research focuses on investor behavior regarding financial disclosures, particularly the impact of non-GAAP earnings on investment decisions. A recognized expert in her field, she has published extensively in leading academic journals and has been cited in major media outlets such as Fortune and The Wall Street Journal. In addition to her academic contributions, Dr. Elliott serves on the board of directors for Gordon Food Service, further extending her influence in both academia and industry.
