Valerie Maxville

Valerie Maxville serves as a Senior Lecturer at Curtin University, where she teaches core units in Data Science and Computer Science, bringing extensive experience in making complex technological concepts accessible to diverse audiences. Her academic credentials include a PhD in Computer Science with a focus on Software Engineering and an Honours degree in Computer Science. Prior to her current role, she spent nearly a decade (2007-2016) at the Pawsey Supercomputing Centre (formerly iVEC), where she led training initiatives, internship programs, and user engagement activities to promote computational science adoption. Her professional recognition includes being named a Fellow of the Australian Computer Society (ACS) and a Senior Member of the Institute for Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE).
