Distinguished Prosthodontist and Dental Education Innovator
Dr. Tong Wah Lim serves as Clinical Assistant Professor in Prosthodontics at the Faculty of Dentistry, The University of Hong Kong, bringing extensive expertise in aesthetic dentistry and prosthodontics. After graduating from the University of Malaya, he completed his specialist training at Guy's Hospital, King's College London as a MoHE scholar, earning his MClinDent in Prosthodontics and MProsRCS from Edinburgh. His academic journey includes a Fellowship in Advanced Periodontology and Implantology from the University of Genova and specialized training at Mahidol University through the IDCMR scholarship. Before joining HKU, he was an Associate Professor at Universiti Teknologi MARA, Malaysia, and served as President of the Malaysian Association of Aesthetic Dentistry (2020-2021). His research interests encompass the Dahl concept, metagenomic analysis of denture biofilm, and aesthetic dentistry, while his current role includes serving as a Guest Editor for BMC Oral Health's special collection on Advancing Dental Education. His contributions to dental education and research continue to influence the field through his focus on population oral health and patient education
