ETH ZurichTobias Luthe is a prominent professor at ETH Zurich and the Oslo School of Architecture and Design (AHO), where he specializes in regenerative design and sustainability science. He holds a Ph.D. in resilience of complex systems and directs the Systemic Design Labs at ETH Zurich, focusing on creating resilient regenerative systems. Luthe is also the co-founder of Grown, a design-as-nature lab recognized for its award-winning bio-composite skis made from hemp. Additionally, he serves as the director of the MonViso Institute, a real-world laboratory located in the Italian Alps dedicated to sustainability transitions. His research emphasizes nature-based design and governance innovation, particularly in mountainous regions facing environmental challenges. As co-lead of the Mountain Resilience Working Group at the Mountain Research Initiative, he contributes to advancing research on resilience in mountain systems.
