Delft University of TechnologyThaleia Konstantinou serves as an Associate Professor in the Chair Building Product Innovation at TU Delft's Faculty of Architecture and the Built Environment. After studying Architecture at the National Technical University of Athens and completing her MSc in Environmental Design and Engineering with distinction at UCL's Bartlett School, she earned her PhD from TU Delft in 2014, focusing on façade refurbishment strategies. Her research and teaching activities concentrate on energy efficiency, circularity, façade design, and building products, with particular emphasis on developing integrated approaches for decarbonizing the built environment. She plays key roles in significant research projects including "2ndSkin: zero-energy refurbishment module" and "Beyond the Current," which focus on energy-efficient housing renovation solutions. As editor of the Journal on Façade Design and Engineering and a member of the European Façade Network, she contributes significantly to advancing sustainable building practices. Her expertise spans architectural engineering, environmental design, and building technology, with a special focus on developing tools and strategies for energy-efficient building renovations.
