Boston UniversityTershia Pinder-Grover serves as Director of the Center for Research on Learning and Teaching in Engineering (CRLT-Engin) at the University of Michigan, where she earned her Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering. Under her leadership, she guides a team focused on advancing engineering education through innovative programming, strategic partnerships, and cultivating individual relationships. Her work has been instrumental in integrating inclusive teaching workshops into all orientations for new engineering faculty, graduate student instructors, and undergraduate instructors. She facilitates numerous workshops in the STEM context on topics such as inclusive teaching, stereotype threat, and team dynamics, while also designing and leading engineering faculty learning communities focused on inclusive teaching practices. Her research interests center on the adoption of inclusive teaching practices for engineering instructors, and she has successfully implemented comprehensive programming that reaches the majority of engineering faculty through various initiatives. Her commitment to creating inclusive learning environments stems from her personal experience as an engineering student, driving her to champion equity-focused teaching strategies that help close societal gaps in engineering education.
