Teodoro (Teo) Forcht Dagi serves as the Vice-Chair of Education and Professor of Neurosurgery at the Mayo School of Medicine and Science. He is a highly trained neurosurgeon with experience at Massachusetts General Hospital and in London. Dr. Dagi’s diverse background includes legal and ethical training as the Joseph P. Kennedy, Jr. Fellow at Harvard and as a Senior Research Fellow at Georgetown University's Kennedy Institute of Ethics. He has lectured globally at law and medical schools and previously served as a law professor at Georgetown Law Center. His recent efforts involve reconciling medical laws in former Soviet Union countries with EU regulations in collaboration with the Council of Europe. Before joining Mayo, Dr. Dagi was the chairman of a medical school in Belfast, where he played a vital role in its reconstruction following the Troubles. Actively engaged in numerous professional organizations, he sits on the surgical specialty board of neurosurgery in the UK with the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. Dr. Dagi emphasizes the importance of medical ethics in healthcare leadership and management within health institutions and NGOs.
