Dr. Sylvie Vanseveren serves as a full-time Professor (Chargée de cours) of Indo-European linguistics at the Université Libre de Bruxelles (Belgium), where she has established herself as an expert in comparative Indo-European grammar and ancient languages. Her research focuses on linguistic evolution in Indo-European languages, particularly examining case systems and morphological development. She has made significant contributions to the field through her work on the "endingless locative" in ancient Indo-European languages and has edited important volumes on linguistic models and ideology in Indo-European studies
