Svenja Sommer

Svenja Sommer is an Associate Professor in the Operations Management and Information Technology department at HEC Paris, where she also serves as the Academic Director of the MSc in Innovation and Entrepreneurship. She earned her Ph.D. in Management from INSEAD and focuses her research on improving the management of innovation-related and product development projects, particularly in highly uncertain environments. Her work addresses topics such as idea generation, selection processes in product development, and collaborative efforts across firms. Sommer has published her research in prestigious journals including Management Science and Organization Science. At HEC Paris, she teaches core courses in Operations Management and elective courses on Supply Chain Management primarily within the MBA and EMBA programs. Prior to her tenure at HEC, she was a faculty member at Purdue University's Krannert School of Management.
