Svea Closser

Svea Closser is an Associate Professor at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, specializing in medical anthropology. Her research examines the interplay between global health policy and local health systems, utilizing ethnographic methods to understand the complexities of public health implementation. With a focus on primary health care, she investigates the experiences of community health workers and the factors influencing vaccine hesitancy, particularly in the context of polio eradication efforts in countries like Pakistan, India, and Nepal.
