Susanne Durst

Susanne Durst is currently a Full Professor of Management at Reykjavik University and holds an Adjunct Professor position at Tallinn University of Technology, bringing extensive expertise in knowledge management and small business development. Her academic journey includes a Ph.D. in Economics from Paris-Sud University, followed by significant roles at various institutions including the University of Skövde, where she served as Professor of Business Administration and led the knowledge, innovation and marketing research group. Her research interests encompass knowledge risk management, innovation management, responsible digitalization, and sustainable business development, particularly focusing on small entrepreneurial organizations. Durst has achieved notable recognition in academia, including making Stanford University's top 2% scholar list and receiving multiple Emerald Literati Awards for Outstanding Papers in 2020 and 2023. She has made substantial contributions to her field through numerous research projects on knowledge management, SME business transfers, and corporate governance, resulting in over 100 technical articles and earning an impressive h-index of 49 with more than 8,400 citations. Her recent work includes editing a groundbreaking book on Small and Medium-Sized Enterprise Resilience, focusing on risk and crisis management strategies for SMEs.
