Dr. Susana Neves is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmacology and Systems Therapeutics at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, where she is also affiliated with the Systems Biology Center New York. Her research focuses on understanding the intricate interplay between phosphodiesterases (PDEs) and synaptic responsiveness, exploring several key questions: the physiological consequences of PDE regulation on receptor trafficking, how PDE regulation affects synaptic responsiveness, the effects of multiple PDE activities on membrane excitability, and the spatial regulation of receptor trafficking by PDEs.Dr. Neves has developed a comprehensive approach to her research, employing both experimental techniques and computational models to decipher these complex biological processes. She teaches the course Integrated Analysis in Systems Biology on Coursera, which aims to provide students with essential skills in analyzing biological systems and data.
