Dr. Susan H. Rodger is a Professor of the Practice in the Computer Science Department at Duke University, renowned for her significant contributions to computer science education and visualization. She holds a Ph.D. and M.S. in Computer Science from Purdue University, as well as a B.S. in Computer Science and Mathematics from North Carolina State University. Dr. Rodger is best known for developing JFLAP, an educational software tool that allows students to experiment with formal languages and automata, making it a leading resource used in over 160 countries. She has also played a pivotal role in integrating computing into K-12 education through the Adventures in Alice Programming project, which includes creating curriculum materials and providing professional development for teachers.
