Suh, Dong Woo

Suh, Dong Woo is an accomplished associate professor at Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH), specializing in metallurgical engineering with a focus on phase transformations and alloy design for ferrous materials. He earned his B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in Metallurgical Engineering from Seoul National University, completing his doctoral studies in 2000. Suh has extensive experience in academia and research, having served as an assistant professor and research professor at POSTECH's Graduate Institute of Ferrous and Eco Materials Technology (GIFT) since 2009. His previous roles include senior researcher at the Korea Institute of Materials Science and a post-doctoral fellow at the Research Institute of Advanced Materials at Seoul National University. His research interests include the degradation of ferrous alloys in challenging environments, microstructure control for high-performance steels, and the effects of hydrogen on steel properties. Suh has published numerous influential papers that contribute to advancements in materials science, particularly in understanding the mechanical behavior of advanced steel alloys under various conditions.
