Steven Reiner

Steven Reiner, a distinguished journalist and Emmy Award recipient, joined Stony Brook University in 2008 after over a decade as a producer for CBS News' “60 Minutes.” His extensive career spans roles at CBS, NBC, and ABC News, covering major global events, as well as editorial positions at The Atlantic and NPR’s All Things Considered. Reiner began his journalism journey as a reporter for The Record in New Jersey and as editor-in-chief of The Daily Cardinal during the politically charged late 1960s at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. At Stony Brook, he teaches courses in broadcast journalism, News Literacy, Reporting in New York City, and Journalism 24/7.
