Stanford UniversitySteven Adelsheim serves as Clinical Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Stanford University School of Medicine and Director of the Stanford Center for Youth Mental Health and Wellbeing, where he has revolutionized youth mental health care through innovative programs and policy initiatives. After earning his MD from the University of Cincinnati and completing his training at the University of New Mexico, he has built an influential career spanning clinical care, policy development, and community mental health initiatives. As the driving force behind the national implementation of the allcove model for youth mental health care and director of PEPPNET, a national network for early psychosis programs, he has transformed approaches to early intervention and prevention. His work encompasses developing school-based mental health programs, implementing tribal behavioral health initiatives, creating telebehavioral health systems, and leading suicide prevention efforts. His contributions have earned him numerous honors, including the Sidney Berman Award from the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and the Agnes Purcell McGavin Award for Prevention. Currently serving as Associate Chair for Community Partnerships in Stanford's Department of Psychiatry, he continues to advance youth mental health through policy development, program implementation, and stigma reduction initiatives while maintaining his commitment to improving mental health outcomes for young people ages 12-25.
