Steve Ahn has been an integral part of KAIST since 2014, contributing to the Institute for Startup KAIST and K-School, which focus on fostering tech-based startups and cultivating a vibrant startup ecosystem in Korea. With a robust background that includes senior roles at Samsung Electronics, Ahn founded Leadis Technology, a fabless semiconductor company in Silicon Valley, in 2000. Under his leadership as CEO, Leadis became a prominent supplier of display driver ICs for mobile phones and achieved an initial public offering on NASDAQ in 2004. He holds a B.S. in Metallurgical Engineering from Seoul National University, an M.S. in Materials Science from KAIST, an M.S. in Electrical Engineering, a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from Stanford University, and an Executive MBA from the Tsinghua/INSEAD joint program.
