Stephen J. Morse, JD, PhD, EdM, is the Ferdinand Wakeman Hubbell Professor of Law at the University of Pennsylvania and an expert in the intersection of law, psychology, and neuroscience. His research focuses on individual responsibility and agency within the context of criminal law, exploring how insights from neuroscience can inform legal concepts of culpability. Dr. Morse has authored numerous influential works and received prestigious awards, including the American Psychiatric Association’s Isaac Ray Award for his contributions to forensic psychiatry.Currently, he is working on a new book titled Desert and Disease: Responsibility and Social Control.
